According to records extracted from “Angling In The Bailiwick Of Guernsey”
In 1982 Richard Browning organised a competition in Guernsey in which 17 anglers
competed. This contest was won with 167 yards 2 feet.
Further events followed, 1983 saw a cast of 219 yards 2 feet by Mike Toomer of Sea
Angler Magazine. 1984 was won with 155 yards, 1985 159 yards and 1986 with 179 yards.
1987 saw a cast of 184 yards 2 feet by Alan Drillot.
In 1991 Guernsey angler Dave Saunders travelled to the UK, and became the first Guernsey
angler to record over 200 yards. This was with a cast of 204 yards 2 feet 9 inches.
I would like hear from any of these anglers/casters or anyone else in Guernsey who is
casting either at home or travelling away to compete.
