Jersey Casting Club Fly Distance And Accuracy Game


Rules:

Any rod and line, leader minimum 6ft max 12ft, tippet min 3lb, max 10lb as long as the rod is a standard production model either built or blank.

Minimum rings as standard.

  • Timed course, 3 casts maximum at each target.
  • Line must not make contact with the floor during a cast or that cast is void and non-scoring.
  • Caster will signal when ready, and a stopwatch will start.
  • False casting is allowed, but the caster cannot false cast for distance gauging between stations.
  • Station 3 is crouched, and you must reduce your body height by at least 1/3rd.
  • Stations 5 and 6 are curve cast stations (direction of curve wind dependant on the day).
  • 1st cast score 10 points, 2nd attempt 8 points and 3rd attempt 5 points. Casts must be made from the station in each case.
  • Station 9 is wrong handed, i.e. you must cast in your non-casting hand.
  • Winner determined by maximum points and minimum time.

Distance casting:

  • Fly lines cast on a measured court.
  • Local distance records set according to line class. You may use a rod 1wt either side of the designated specification.

 

  • Anglers Fly Distance 5,6,7,8,9 and 10wt. WF floating lines. Any backing.
  • Rod to be standard production model, of no more than 9’-6”.
  • Any reel. However, it must hold all the flyline and backing.
  • Fly to be a piece of coloured yarn ½” long.
  • Leader to be min 6ft max 12ft. Min tippet 3lb.
  • Shooting head events to be held in all categories, min head length 30 feet.
  • Running line can be any, although mono is recommended.
  • You may use a rod 1wt either side of the designated specification.

 

A 5wt class will also be held using a SA XXD distance line. Rod must be standard production model either built or blank. Minimum rings as standard. A rod length of no more than 9’-1” will be allowed for this event.

Rules:

Any single-handed rod minimum 6ft, max 9ft. No leader. Running line minimum 0.18mm level line of mono construction.

Can be either fixed spool or multiplier. Can be either (7.5g ICSF plug 0.18mm minimum diameter) or

(18g ICSF plug 0.25mm min). No leader in any event.

  • Timed course, 3 casts maximum at each target.
  • Caster will signal when ready, and a stopwatch will start.
  • 1st cast score 10 points, 2nd attempt 8 points and 3rd attempt 5 points. Casts must be made from the station in each case.
  • Winner determined by maximum points and minimum time.

Distance casting:

  • All to be cast on a 120-meter court with a 30-degree window.
  • Caster has 3 minutes to make each cast and measure. Rod and reel must be in castable
  • state after each cast is recovered for that cast to count as a scoring cast.
  • Records cannot be set in plus 7mph winds.
  • Single-handed fixed spool:
  • Rod: 6ft min, max 8’2” 0.18mm level line of mono construction. 7.5g ICSF plug.

No leader in this event

  • Double handed fixed spool:
  • Rod: Any, minimum 0.25mm level line of mono construction.
  • with 0.35mm coloured leader (1 full turn on reel).
  • 18g ICSF plug.
  • Double handed multiplier:
  • Rod: Any, 0.25mm level line of mono construction.
  • with 0.35mm coloured leader (1 full turn on reel).
  • 18g ICSF plug.
